Beaver Teeth
Beaver teeth are constantly growing. If they didn’t constantly wear down their teeth they would grow so long they could not open and close their mouth. If a beaver skull is aged, the teeth can be removed, showing that they extend way back into the skull, revealing interesting colors and patterns.
Back when I lived up north I harvested several thousand beaver in my trapping career. I would save the teeth, clean them, stick a gold plated eyelet in the base, and seal with poly. If the teeth were not sealed they would eventually dry out and crack apart.
I sold thousands of these beaver teeth for jewelry purposes and felt good about utilizing a part that normally gets discarded.
